Our story

A family business, rooted in Naas

Swans on the Green opened in 1985 as a greengrocer, with fruit and vegetables at the heart of everything. It soon became a household name, the first place people thought of for the freshest produce. For two generations we've supplied the homes and businesses of Naas.

The town has changed a great deal since then, and we've changed with it: a gourmet deli, a café, fine wines and baking done on site. What hasn't changed is the pride. Some of the faces who served you in the early years are still behind the counter today.

In spring 2026 we opened our newest chapter: a bright extension at the back of the shop, with around 100 square metres of extra room to sit down and stay a while.

The café & deli

Breakfast from 6:30. Lunch made that morning.

Order at the counter, then pull up a seat in the café or the new extension. Everything is made in-house each day by our own chefs and bakers, and our single-origin coffee is roasted especially for Swans.

The market

The best of the season, every day

Fresh produce is still the heart of the shop: sourced direct and bought local whenever we can. These days it's joined by a deli counter, a bakery and a wine wall well worth browsing.
